When it comes to planning your wedding, decorations are one of the few things that really determine the vibe of your photos and video. If you’re like most couples, you probably don’t even know where to start or just don’t really know about your options. Welp, that’s why I’m here! After filming weddings for over three years, and being deeply immersed in the wedding community online, I‘ve gotten to see tons of super unique ideas!
Using rugs down the aisle
Have you ever wondered how you could incorporate more color into your ceremony area, without the use of more florals? RUGS! I’ve seen people layer different rugs down the aisle or even right at the end, where the ceremony Is! If your aesthetic is more boho-chic, this trick is for you!
Color Block back drops
Did you know you DON’T have to do an arch if you don’t want to? Arched back drops are a modern and unique way to make your wedding stand out.
The cool thing about these is you can incorporate them in so many different ways! They can replace your arch, display your seating chart and or menu, or act as a cozy corner by throwing a couch in front of it and some florals ( + a cute picture opportunity!!)
Disco Balls
Okay this one, might be my favorite. Who said a disco ball is only meant for the dancefloor?? I mean I still love that idea, but you could incorporate them in other ways too! I’ve seen people use them in floral arrangements in front of the bride & groom table, or hanging multiple together above a seating area. How cuteeee!!!
Room Dividers
I personally haven't seen this one done before but I think it would be SO cool in a reception. One of the difficult things about decorating a big venue space is not having anything to visually break up the space. This applies for outdoor weddings along with indoor ones. With the use of room dividers, you could divide the food and drink area from where the tables and dance floor are, which will really help pull off a more extravagant look.
There are so many different options for these, so you can really customize them to suit your day best!
If it were me, I'd paint room dividers to match them to the color scheme. How unique!
The truth is...
Your wedding doesn't have to just fit into one box. Opting for a big wedding doesn't mean you have to jeopardize unique elements that couples can do for an elopement. I've seen couples thrift glasses for the champagne toasts, use mismatched furniture, the list goes on. Be creative and check out Facebook marketplace, thrift stores, and craigslist just to see what comes up!
I hope this post gave you some insight on elements you could bring into your wedding day. Wedding planning can be stressful, and I think most brides don't even get the chance to think of the out-of-the-box ideas that they could do.
