They asked me to film their wedding in Hawaii, and I said yes.

This summer I was filming a wedding for some friends of my brother, when during the reception my brother walked up to me with a friend - saying his friend was engaged and needed a videographer. He said

"So, how much would you charge to fly to Hawaii to film my wedding"

I was speechless and got SO excited. I was being asked about doing my FIRST #destinationwedding! Long story short, we talked about some details, he introduced me to his fiancé, and we unofficially booked their date over a handshake on the spot.

Because of covid, they decided to move the wedding to Florida, and it was just as incredible. We did their first look in a beautiful outdoor garden, and then moved to the ceremony on the beach where they had a small sunset wedding with their closest family and friends, followed by a pizza + beer reception at a local pizzeria.

Could you ask for anything better??

I’ve always had a love for traveling. I’ve been lucky enough to get to go to Hawaii, the British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Puerto Rico and more. But this trip, just confirmed that I want to film more destination weddings.

There’s something so special about destination weddings and the fact that the people that are there, actually interrupted their lives to be there on the wedding day. The friendship and family feel just radiates in the air, it’s incredible to experience.

Destination weddings are the future for Haley Jay Media, I just know it!
