A Wedding Videographer’s Perspective on Oheka Castle, New York

Some venues speak for themselves and Oheka Castle is one of those venues. Its scale, symmetry, and historical presence immediately remind me of weddings I’ve filmed in England at Pylewell Park, or Chateau De Harpe in Oregon.

Filming a Wedding in England: Letting the Setting Lead

When I filmed a destination wedding in England, the estate itself became part of the story. The day unfolded slowly. Moments happening naturally without being forced.

There was no need to over-style or over-direct. The environment shaped the rhythm of the film. That experience taught me how powerful it is to let a venue like Oheka Castle do what it already does best: create the mood and presence. It’s a space where a wedding doesn’t need to be manufactured. It simply needs to be documented with intention.

Oheka Castle offers that same experience in New York — a European-inspired setting on American soil that allows couples to host a celebration that feels timeless and transportive without leaving the country.

Why Oheka Castle Aligns With My Filmmaking Style

My work blends documentary storytelling with a fashion-forward, editorial approach. I’m drawn to venues that already carry history and character. Places that don’t need to be transformed, just honored. This is exactly the kind of venue where a film can feel more like a short story than a highlight reel.

I've been drawn to this venue for years, but now it doesnt just feel aspirational, it feels right. I would love to document a wedding weekend here in 2026.

If you're looking for a videographer for your wedding at Oheka Castle - I'd love to hear from you!
